| NAME A. American Dog Federation B. The official abbreviation ADF 2. PROFIT STATUS A. ADF is a for-profit entity ARTICLE II – OBJECTIVES 1. ADF OBJECTIVES A.To promote positive and humane training methods for all dogs. B.To preserve the rights of dog owners to harbor,breed, sell and train dogs. C. To educate the community and general public regarding responsible ownership, ethical training and breeding practices, health, breed specific legislation and all matters pertaining to dog ownership and dog breeding. D. To provide opportunity for the dog community to compete and attend seminars. ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP 1. MEMBERSHIP A. Membership - open to all dog enthusiasts who subscribe to the purposes and objectives of ADF as stated herein. (1). Members: a. Members shall pay a one time membership fee of $10.00 b. Members shall have a $10.00 discount applied to each ADFtesting fee for ADF titles. c. Members shall not have any discount on dog registration fees. 2. RESIGNATION OF MEMBERSHIP A. Any member may resign his membership at any time upon submission to the ADF secretary a signed statement of esignation. No membership fee will be remitted/returned to the member wishing to resign his membership. 3. SUSPENSION AND EXPULSION A. Membership will cease automatically is the member is participating in illegal dog activities. 4. MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS there will be no membership meetings ARTICLE IV – BOARD OF DIRECTORS 1. BOARD OF DIRECTORS A. The Board of Directors shall consist of the General Board of Directors (President, Vice- President, Secretary and Treasurer) and at least four officers. 1.All members of the Board of Directors shall be members in goodstanding of American Dog Federation 2. The board shall determine all actions regarding ADF policy 3. The General Board of Directors will be responsible for running the day to day business of American Dog Federation. 4. Each member of the General Board of Directors will hold ONE vote. 2. DUTIES OF THE GENERAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS A. The President shall: 1.Preside over all meetings 2. Serve as spokesman for ADF for public affairs and when dealing with external organizations. B. The Vice-President shall: 1.Assist the President in all matters pertaining to ADF 2. Succeed the President should the President be unable to fulfillhis duties either on a temporary or permanent basis. 3. Preside at meetings in the event that the President is absent. C. The Secretary shall: 1.Conduct the correspondence of ADF 2. Prepare and distribute minutes of all meetings. 3. Preside at meetings in the event that the President and Vice-President are absent. D. The Treasurer shall: 1.Oversee the receipt and disbursement of ADF moneys. 2. Provide a written report on the financial condition and activities of ADF to the Board of Directors E. BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETINGS 1. The Board Of Directors shall have quarterly meeteings 2. Quarterly meetings shall be held on the first Tuesday of the month. 3. In order to hold a meeting there must be 3 officers and 2 board members present. F.ELECTIONS 1.The January meeting of the Board Of Directors shall either choose new officers or decide to keep the incumbant officers from the year prior. |
